Features

  • Upper section

The upper section holds the section to select presets or different bank folders. Also, the parameter read-out box can be found there. Next to this you will also find selectors for the several pages inside Prisma. The controls and selections are Preset / Folder./ Edit  and Orig / Readout /Layers / FX-EQ / Manager / MCP ‘Multi Control Page’ / Volume / Prisma Logo

  • MCP ‘Multi Control Page’

The ‘MCP’ stands for ‘Multi Control Page’ which you can consider as the main page using presets. The ‘Multi Control Page’ allows you by using 4 faders to control and change the sound of each of the layers. For instance, changing the filter frequency of all used instruments with one fader is one example or if you like to change dynamically the panning of a layer, it can be done inside the MCP. By playing around with the Prisma presets and their settings the MCP will show you from the start that this page is very powerful, yet easy to use and creative by all means!
Controls are: Fader 1-4 ‘Multicontrol’ / Amount (1-4) / Amount bypass button (1-4) / Amount destination

  • Layer page (left section)

In the upper section of Prisma you can click the ‘Layers’ button/icon which opens the layer section completely.  The left side is always visual, except if you open the bank manager. In the left section, you can select the ‘plug-in’ and its preset. A small image will show the chosen plugin that is currently loaded.
Controls: On/off / Solo / Edit Plug-in

Plug-in
Here you can select the plug-in that you would like to use to create your Prisma preset.
With: Preset / Bank / MIDI ch./ Out

Pre/post button FX
This button sets the FX send to ‘pre’ mode which means: ‘pre volume fader fx send mode’.
So without depending on the volume setting of the layer, the sound goes straight to the FX by using the dial.
The most commonly used mode is ‘post’  which is also default and stands for: ‘post volume fader fx send mode’. In this mode, the volume of the layer has influenced how hard it is sent into the FX using the dial.
The ‘pre’ mode is rarely used, but we still added it for the users that like to arrange it this way.
Controls: FX 1-4 send / Pan / Vol /

  • Layer page (right section)

EASY EDIT
Here you can find a range of 12 parameters to change the sound of the layer. These controls also can be selected in the MCP (Multi Control Page). Clicking on the label name (Easy Edit) will bring up a menu. You can select the ‘default’  setting of the loaded plug-in, but also can save your own setting.
So if you would like other parameters to be part of the ‘EASY EDIT’ just go to the box below the fader and select another parameter of the loaded plug-in. Note that the list can be very long, showing all parameters inside of the product.

KEYBOARD LAYOUT
This section allows you to make keyboard ranges and velocity response settings of the layer.
Great for making split points or for making layers kick in at certain velocity ranges.
But there is more, since we can have Punch as a drum machine inside Prisma we also made a dedicated keyboard layout for Punch only. Since Punch-1 and Punch-2 have a built-in sequencer to trigger the drum sounds, these sequences can respond to certain keyboard ranges or velocity ranges as well.
So this keyboard layout page is a creative sound tool inside of Prisma!
Listen and try out the various example presets inside the ‘Introduction folder bank’.

Synth
This page you can use for all plug-ins including Punch. Although the most logical use of Punch is its ‘Punch’ keyboard layout. The ‘Synth’  layout has these options:
- Keyboard range
This sets the keyboard range. Handy for making split points on your keyboard
- Velocity range
The sets the range at which velocity the layer starts to play or stops playing. Default is 0-128
Transpose
It transposes the whole sound, which is a handy feature if you use split points and like to use a certain range of sound.

Punch and Punch-2
This page only works if Punch is loaded as a plug-in. Punch has built in sequencers (8 in total) and these you can trigger using certain keyboard ranges or velocity ranges. Note that the selected presets of Punch should have these sequences active. They are GRV 1-4 which stands for ‘groove 1-4’ and BR 1-4 which stands for ‘break 1-4’.
On/off
The button ahead of the grv 1-4 or br 1-4 is for switching them on/off
Note that the loaded presets of Punch needs to have them all active. It could well be the case that some Punch presets hold less grooves or breaks.
Keyb. range
This sets the range of the keyboard, when your grv 1-4 or br 1-4 starts to play
Velocity
This sets the range of velocity, when your grv 1-4 or br 1-4 starts to play.
Additionally for Punch-2, the 'Auditon' and 'Loop' playback are available

 EQ
Stacking sounds together is like mixing. So it might be the case that need to EQ the layer to make it all blend into one good sound. The layer EQ holds 3 bands and two filters being a LowPass filter and a HighPass filter. The EQ is of high quality, algorithm from our RP-EQ plug-in!
 The controls are:
- EQ on/off
This sets on/off the EQ, but also the LP and HP filters are set to ‘off’ if active.
LP
A 12dB LowPass filter with frequency control is used here which can be turned on/off.
Note that if EQ is set to ‘off’ the LP filter is also shut off.
HP
A 12dB LowPass filter with frequency control  is used here which can be turned on/off
Note that if EQ is set to ‘off’ the LP filter is also shut off.
Band 1-3 on/off
Each of the 3 bands of the EQ can be turned on or off. If you don’t use a band, just turn it off since it will save CPU usage.
Band Frequency (1-3)
Sets the frequency you want to boost or cut. Range is from 20hz to 20kHz
Band Q (1-3)
Sets the bandwidth of the filter. You can use ‘shift’ on your keyboard to change the bandwidth with your mouse, moving from left to right.
Gain (1-3)
Sets the gain strength of the EQ band. -20dB down and 20dB up.

MIDI Filter
This section allows you to filter MIDI data. Handy if stack sounds and like for instance some of them to not respond to ‘Pitch Bend’  or’ Modulation Wheel’. So instead of editing the plug-in itself, you can filter out MIDI data here. Most important ones can be selected with the button which you can turn on to filter the data. We also added two menu boxes, in which you can select certain types of MIDI data yourself.

  • FX-EQ

In the upper section of Prisma, you can click the ‘FX-EQ’ button which will open the FX section and the master EQ.  The left side of the layers will still be visual, which is essential since the FX 1-4 send dials are inside each layer.

  • FX 1-4

In total 32 top-notch FX types can be found in Prisma! And they can be used in each of the 4 slots.
In the FX section we added a mixer style setup. Each layer has ‘fx send’  dials for each FX.
Each layer can hold a plug-in that uses its own onboard FX. Often this FX setting is part of the sound. So many will keep them active.
But the picture that you have 4x instruments with all ‘stereo delay’ and ‘reverb’  active. Then it is better to shut them down and use the FX of Prisma instead. It will save on overall CPU.
Especially as our Reverb is known for its quality, but uses more CPU than say for instance a Chorus.
So this is one reason why we added the 4 FX on board. The other reason is of course that you can use FX on the stacked sounds... sculp the sound.

FX types:
Mono Delay, Stereo Delay, Mono Tape Delay, Stereo Tape Delay, Comb Filter, HQ Reverb, Chorus, Tape Chorus, Chorus/Delay, Ensemble, Flanger, Tape Flanger, Phaser, Ana. Phaser, Ring-Mod, Distort, Multi Distort, Low Fi, Waveshaper, Clipper, Amp Sim, Cabinet, Widener, AutoPan, Tremelo, gator, Compressor, Noise-Gate, Filter, Bass, WahWah Delay, AutoWah.

EQ
Each layer of Prisma has its own EQ, but we also added a master EQ which is behind the FX range. This for the EQ of the total sound.  This EQ holds 3 bands and two filters being a LowPass filter and a HighPass filter. The EQ is of high quality, algorithm of our RP-EQ plug-in!
 The controls are:
- EQ on/off
This sets on/off the EQ.
Note:  The LP and HP filters are also set to ‘off’ by default if the EQ isn’t active.
LP
A 12dB LowPass filter with frequency controlled  is used here which can be turned on/off.
Note that if EQ is set to ‘off’ the LP filter is also shut off.
HP
A 12dB LowPass filter with frequency control  is used here which can be turned on/off
Note that if EQ is set to ‘off’ the LP filter is also shut off.
Band 1 on/off
Each of the 3 bands of the EQ can be turned on or off. If you don’t use a band, just turn it off since it will save CPU usage.
Band Frequency (1-3)
Sets the frequency you like to boost or cut. Range from 20hz to 20kHz
Band Q (1-3)
Sets the bandwidth of the filter. You can use ‘shift’ of your keyboard to change the bandwidth with your mouse, moving from left to right.
Gain (1-3)
Sets the gain strength of the EQ band. -20dB down and 20dB up gain

  • BANK MANAGER

In the upper section of Prisma click the ‘Manager’ button/icon which will then open the manager section.  This section is perfect for arranging presets and searching for certain types of presets using the category system.
