Program does not show up inside Cubase SX |
|
If the "Rob Papen" instrument does not show up inside Cubase SX. (PC/Mac)
Answer PC:
This may happens because of a faulty "VSTplugins" location, so Cubase looks in the wrong place for the plugin.
The way to solve this, without re-install the plugin is:
Cubase SX (Startup the program).
- Select: "Devices" and then "Plug-in" information
- Select: VSTplugins
- Select: VSTplugins "2.x Path".
Add the folder where the plugins are installed "manually". Most of the time Programs/Steinberg/Vstplugins needs to be added as well.
- After this go to "Plugin Information" window, click on both update buttons, so to update the plugin information
The other option is to run the installer again and pick the right location. If you are doing this you should unclick the eLicenser component in the installer, so it is not installed again
and you do not need to download a new license.
If above does not work try this:
- Open up the eLicenser Control Center and make sure there is a valid license for the plugin, and that
that the eLicenser itself is working. If there is a problem, please let us know.
- Make sure that the correct version of the plugin is installed.
For 32 bit versions of Cubase you should use the 32 bit versions of our plugins.
For 64 bit versions of Cubase you should use the 64 bit versions of our plugins.
We also recommend that you use the single core version of our plugins.
If you need to reinstall we recommend that you do not reinstall eLicenser, so you should unclick
that component in the installer.
- For Cubase you may have to delete the blacklist file, Vst2xBlacklist.xml. This can be found at the following places
XP - C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\Steinberg\[version of Cubase]\Vst2xBlacklist.xml
Vista and Windows 7 - C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\[version of Cubase]\Vst2xBlacklist.xml
Where [user name] is your user name and [version of Cubase] is the version of Cubase such as Cubase5
This folder may not visible on your Windows systems. You may have to change the folder options to enable the display of hidden files and folders.
Deleting this file will force Cubase to do a rescan on all the plugins.
- Open up Cubase, in Devices > Plugin In Information, click on the "VST 2.x Plugin Path" button,
and in the VST 2.x Plugin Path window make sure that path to our plugin folder is there, if it is
not you will need to add it. After this in the "Plugin Information" window, click on both update
buttons, so to update the plugin information.
- Close download Cubase and then reopen it.
Answer Mac:
- Open up the eLicenser Control Center and make sure there is a valid license for the plugin, and that
that the eLicenser itself is working. If there is a problem, please let us know.
- Make sure that our plugin is correctly installed , it will be installed in the folder
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Rob Papen/[name of plugin].vst
If it is not there then run the updater for that plugin, so the software is reinstalled.
- Delete Cubase's blacklist , so that all plugins are rescanned.
1. Close down Cubase
2. Delete the blacklist file, this can be found at
Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences//Vst2xBlacklist.xml
where [user name] is your user account and version of Cubase is the version of Cubase, such as Cubase5
3.Empty the trash can, and then restart your computer
4. Open up Cubase again, it will then rescan all the plugins.
